La toponímia major del Pla d'Urgell: una visió panoràmica de conjunt

Abstract

En aquest article proposem l’origen etimològic de la toponímia major del Pla d’Urgell (nom dels municipis) a partir de la documentació coneguda que hem extret de la bibliografi a especialitzada. La gran majoria dels topònims estudiats són d’origen llatí, si bé n’hi ha alguns d’origen preromà o aràbic.

In this paper we propose the etymological origin of major toponymy of the Pla d’Urgell (name of municipalities) on the basis of the documentation known that we extracted from the specialized bibliography. The vast majority of the studied toponymies are of Latin origin, although there are some pre-Roman o Arabic
