Apremdiendo a hablar aliebn: una propuesta de traducción de everyone’s a aliebn when ur a aliebn too

Abstract

La novel·la gràfica everyone’s a aliebn when ur a aliebn too de Jonny Sun no destaca solament pel seu tendre però complex missatge, altres components com l'estil artístic, el tipus de llenguatge usat i el seu humor, són també peces importants que componen la identitat d'aquesta novel·la. Aquests elements, al seu torn, contribueixen al fet que la novel·la destaqui com a text interessant per a ser traduït. Per a traduir aquesta novel·la, discernir com s'apliquen cadascun dels components esmentats i comprendre la seva funció dins del text és gairebé tan important com entendre el contingut. Aquest treball de fi de grau pretén contribuir amb una proposta de traducció d'everyone’s a aliebn when ur a aliebn too al castellà. Cal destacar que aquesta traducció és innovadora, ja que aquesta novel·la gràfica encara no s'ha traduït a aquesta llengua. A més, aquesta tesi descompon el llenguatge aliebn de la novel·la i el seu ús del simbolisme sonor per a així poder recrear-lo i mantenir les seves principals funcions en la versió en castellà. Així mateix, l'humor, construït i empleat majoritàriament a través del llenguatge i part essencial del llenguatge aliebn, s'analitza i classifica per a poder ser adaptat en la traducció.

La novela gráfica everyone’s a aliebn when ur a aliebn too de Jonny Sun no destaca solamente por su tierno pero complejo mensaje, sino por otros componentes como el estilo artístico, el tipo de lenguaje usado y su humor, piezas también importantes que componen la identidad de esta novela. Estos elementos, a su vez, contribuyen a que la novela destaque como texto interesante para ser traducido. Para traducir esta novela, discernir cómo se aplican cada uno de los componentes mencionados y comprender su función dentro del texto es casi tan importante como entender el contenido. Este trabajo de fin de grado pretende contribuir con una propuesta de traducción de everyone’s a aliebn when ur a aliebn too al castellano. Cabe destacar que esta traducción es novedosa, ya que esta novela gráfica no se ha traducido aún a esta lengua. Además, esta tesis estudia cómo se compone el lenguaje aliebn de la novela y el uso del simbolismo sonoro para así poder recrearlo y mantener sus principales funciones en la versión en castellano. Asimismo, el humor, construido y empleado mayoritariamente a través del lenguaje y parte esencial del lenguaje aliebn, se analiza y clasifica para poder ser adaptado en la traducción.

Jonny Sun's graphic novel everyone's a aliebn when ur a aliebn too does not only stand out for its tender but complex message, but other components such as its art style, the type of language used and its humor are also important pieces that constitute the identity of this novel. These elements, in turn, contribute to making the novel an interesting text to translate. In order to translate this novel, discerning how each of the aforementioned components is applied and understanding their function within the text is almost as important as comprehending the content. This end of degree dissertation aims at contributing with a proposal for the translation of everyone's a aliebn when ur a aliebn too into Spanish. It must be noted that this translation is innovative, as this graphic novel has not yet been rendered to this language. Furthermore, this thesis studies how the aliebn language of the novel is composed and its use of sound symbolism, in order to recreate it and maintain its main functions in the Spanish version. Likewise, humor, which is constructed and employed mainly through language and is an essential part of the aliebn language, is analyzed and classified in order to be adapted in the translation.
