Abstract

Beginning with Wittgenstein's references to language games, Jaako Hintikka, with his theory of semantic games, endeavors to explain certain relations between language and reality which Frege and Tarski have left untouched in their semantic works. The author of this article explains certains applications and theoretical problems related to the semantic games described by this theory in the light of a notion of a game derived from the mathematical theory of the games
