Abstract

'Poder i santedat' de Manuel Molins, estrenada al Teatre Principal de València el 16 d'octubre de 2020, patí els atacs de diversos sectors de l'extrema dreta, que volgueren prohibir-la. Aquest article analitza el sentit del text, la documentació de què parteix, la polèmica generada i la recepció crítica del muntatge. Valora també la importància de l'estrena -una de les més ambicioses des del punt de vista estètic i ideològic dels darrers temps- en el context escènic, cultural i polític del País Valencià.

About the premiere of 'Poder i santedat' by Manuel Molins'Poder i santedat' (Power and Holiness) by Manuel Molins, premiered at the Teatre Principal in Valencia on October 16, 2020, suffered attacks from various sectors of the far right who wanted to ban it. This article examines the meaning of the text, the research done by the author in order to write it, the controversy generated by the show and its critical reception. It also appreciates the importance of the remiere -one of the most ambitious from an aesthetic and ideological point of view in recent times- in the scenic, cultural and political context of the Valencian Country.
