Hamiltonian systems model a number of important problems in theoretical physics, mechanics, fluid dynamics and others disciplines. Many important physical and engineering processes can be described by a suitable linear Hamiltonian formalism. The properties of Hamiltonian systems like conservation of energy or volume in the phase space leads specific dynamical features.
