Análisis regional: matriz de localización-especialización

Abstract

Localization analysis of economic activities and specialization of economic regions is difficult and somehow fuzzy without some method that can show interrelationships between the different measures used. In the work we describe the "Localization-Specialization matrix" as a tool that integrates the localization quocient, the localization coefficient and the spacialization coefficient. We present both such matrix and its usefulness by means of its application to the case of Catalan economy.
