Abstract

The thesis of this paper is that the Strategic Management theory, although in its infancy, can deliver an exhaustive and lucid qualitative valuation for seed start-ups. In order to explore this, a comprehensive introduction of the nature of a start-up and review of the literature that concerns the details of its ecosystem is presented, which will allow the reader to properly contextualise the discussion that follows in the case study. A second company is briefly considered and valued at the end, in this case an early-stage start-up, with the hope that it will serve as a conceptual contrast that will further illuminate the reader on how the Strategic Management theory accomplishes what it sets itself to
