Stock master: smart inventory tool for small and ,medium enterprises

Abstract

"Stock Master: Smart Inventory Tool for Retailers" is a project dedicated to developing an intelligent inventory management tool specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the fashion retail sector. This tool applies principles from Production and Operations Management (POM) to streamline inventory processes, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making capabilities. The project aims to address common inventory management challenges faced by SMEs, such as stock-outs, overstocks, and inefficient purchasing decisions, by providing an accessible and user-friendly solution that does not require specialized operations staff. The project includes the complete analysis and development of the tool, detailing the entire programming process. The development methodology involves using Python and HTML, with the integration of libraries such as Flask for web development, NumPy for numerical computations, and Pandas for data manipulation. The tool actually incorporates essential inventory management models like Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Reorder Point (ROP), and ABC Analysis. The choice of a periodic review inventory system ensures costeffectiveness and ease of implementation, aligning with the financial and operational constraints of SMEs. Users can upload their inventory data, which the tool processes to perform critical calculations, displaying the results on a web that provides vital information for effective inventory management. Significant cost savings are demonstrated through the optimization of order quantities and the reduction of excess inventory.
