Abstract

This document presents part of the ISL payload design. First, a study selects the suitable bands to operate this ISL communication system and its links capabilities. Then requirements of the payload are presented and the technologies that it includes are described. Finally an in-depth description of the UHF frontend design is presented. The present work, performed together with Microwave Systems and Electronics S.L. is part of the 6GSATNET-SS-L3-P2-A2.3 work package of 6GSatNet[1] Project. The 6GSatNet Project is the activity of the development of a novel hardware flexible Inter Satellite Link (ISL) device for heterogeneous satellites communications. The developed printed circuit board (PCB) contains multiple RF power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, a LoRa transceiver, an Iridium module and the required power supply and control circuitry for the aforementioned subcircuits. The present document presents only a theoretical development of the board, not being implemented in hardware. Later the design will be produced and tuned on a physical board and integrated in the rest of the 6GSatNet systems.
