Abstract

The archaeological site of Castellet de Banyoles is located in the village of Tivissa, in the region of Tarragona. It is the large Iberian village of the southern Catalonia and it’s protected as a Bé Cultural d’Interès Nacional (BCIN). The study belongs to a collaboration between the EPSEB ( Escola Politècnica Superior d’Edificació de Barcelona) and the School of Geography and History of the University of Barcelona, specifically the department of Prehistory, Ancient History and Archaeology. This project aims to give continuity to the studies previously done on the Castellet de Banyoles site. The idea is to create a 3D model from the aerial pictures of all the area. The work is georeferenced by the ETRS89 reference system, in the UTM 31N projected coordinates, ortometric height. In order to carry it out we have placed two observation sights so that we can take all the control points that we need for the photogrammetric restitution of the images. The results of this 3D model will become different cartographic products; drawings, orthoimagery and perhaps it could be followed by other studies and projects. In the following pages we will explain in detail the techniques we have used in this project as well as all the extra information concerning the archaeological site and finally the results and the conclusions taken from this work
