Comercio anfórico tardorrepublicano en Malaca: Las importaciones de calle Beatas-esquina Ramón Franquelo (Málaga, España)

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio tipológico, ceramológico y cuantitativo del conjunto anfórico procedente de la intervención realizada en la calle Beatas-esquina Ramón Franquelo en 1997. El yacimiento posee evidencias de ocupación durante el Alto y Bajo Imperio, pero sin duda, destaca la fase tardopúnica o romano-republicana, en la que junto a la presencia de un espacio funerario, se registraron depósitos con una gran cantidad de material anfórico, que hemos datado en torno al segundo cuarto del s. I a.C. Es resaltable la importante presencia de importaciones vinarias itálicas, pero también una abundante llegada de aceite de fuera de la península ibérica, como testimonian las ánforas Africanas Antiguas y de Brindisi, de las que se presentan varios sellos. Amén de aportar datos y precisiones cronológicas sobre el área funeraria y artesanal del suburbium septentrional de la Malaca tardopúnica, el conjunto analizado constituye un excepcional documento para el análisis de su dinámica comercial.

The paper presents a typological, ceramological and quantitative analysis of the amphora assemblage from the rchaeological excavation carried out in Beatas Street at the corner of Ramón Franquelo in 1997. This site has evidence from the Early and Late Empire periods, but certainly, here the most outstanding is the Late Punic or Roman Republican phase. In this period, in addition to the presence of a funerary space, deposits with a high quantity of amphorae were registered, dating to around the second quarter of the 1st century BC. The important presence of Italic wine imports is remarkable, but also the significant arrival of oil coming from outside the Iberian Peninsula, as Ancient African and Brindisian amphorae show, from which several stamps are presented. In addition to providing new data and chronological details about the funerary and craft area placed in the north suburbium of the Late Punic Malaca, the assemblage studied constitutes exceptional documentation of the dynamic trade analysis.
