Consum alimentari i explotació forestal durant l’edat del ferro al poblat de Biniparratx Petit (Sant Lluís, Menorca)

Abstract

El present article incideix en la interpretació arqueològica i històrica de les dades bioarqueològiques extretes del poblat de Biniparratx Petit, a Menorca. La recollida de restes faunístiques i mostres arqueobotàniques ha permès analitzar l’ús i l’explotació de les espècies en matèria de producció i de consum a l’assentament al llarg d’un ampli període que cobreix tota l’edat del ferro fins a inicis de l’època romana. La combinatòria de fasificació i la interpretació de contextos que compten amb analítiques específiques mostren canvis d’explotació econòmica entre el Període Talaiòtic i el Període Balear. En la darrera fase del poblat, a partir del segle ii AEC es produïren canvis econòmics, probablement de paisatge i aparentment una reducció de l’assentament.

This paper outlines the archaeological and historical interpretation of bioarchaeological data extracted from the settlement of Biniparratx Petit, in Minorca. Collecting faunal remains and archaeobotanical samples allowed the analysis of the use and exploitation of species in relation to production and consumption activities in the settlement over a large period covering from the Iron Age until the beginnings of the Roman Period. Interpretation of contexts by phases shows changes in the economical exploitation between the Talayotic and Balearic Periods. In the last phase of the village, from the 2nd century BCE onwards, economic changes and probably landscape transformation took place together with a strong correlation with the apparent reduction of the settlement.
