L’assentament ibèric de Sebes (Flix, Ribera d’Ebre). Intervencions 2011-2015

Abstract

En aquest treball es presenten els darrers treballs d’excavació realitzats al conjunt arqueològic de Sebes, on s’ha pogut documentar un assentament ibèric en vessant datat entre finals del segle vi i inicis del segle v a.c., que succeeix l’ocupació de la part superior del turó durant el Primer Ferro. Les restes millor conservades corresponen a la terrassa superior de l’hàbitat (zona 9) on hem pogut identificar una edifici central compartimentat de grans dimensions. La peculiaritat d’aquest assentament és l’ocupació continuada del turó entre els segles vii i v a.c., el que fa de Sebes un dels millors exemples per estudiar la transició entre el primer ferro i l’ibèric antic a la vall de l’Ebre.

In this paper we present the results of the recent excavations carried out in the archaeological site of Sebes. We have documented an Iberian settlement, built on the slope of a hill and dating between the late 6th and early 5th century b.c., that follows the occupation of the upper part of the hill in the First Iron Age. The best-preserved remains correspond to the upper terrace of the habitat (zone 9) where a large, compartmentalized building has been identified. The peculiarity of this site is the continued occupation of the hill from the 7th to the 5th centuries b.c. It makes Sebes one of the best examples to study the transition between the First Iron Age and the early Iberian period in the valley of the Ebro River.
