En el presente artículo se examinan las posibles relaciones —o disociaciones— entre la orientación cardinal de los edificios de culto cristiano y la disposición de las celebraciones litúrgicas en la Hispania tardoantigua. Partiendo del análisis arqueológico y documental de aquellas variables que pudieron condicionar la orientación de una serie de templos del noreste peninsular, se valora la importancia y rol específico que las comunidades celebrantes otorgaron a este particular. |

This article examines the possibles relationships —or disassociations— between cardinal orientation of Christian worship buildings and disposition of liturgical celebrations in Hispania during the Late Antiquity. Starting from the archaeological and documental analysis of those variables that could conditioned the orientation of a group of churches in the north-east of Iberian Peninsula, are evaluated the importance and specific role that celebrating communities gave to this issue. |
