La medicina en la Antigüedad tardía: una aproximación a partir de las fuentes escritas

Abstract

El presente artículo traza un breve recorrido por algunos de los aspectos más relevantes de la disciplina médica durante l período tardoantiguo (siglos iii a viii). Así, a través del análisis de fuentes literarias, históricas, epigráficas y jurídicas se realiza una aproximación social a la medicina, especialmente centrada en cuestiones relacionadas con esta profesión, su praxis y su evolución histórica.

This article presents a brief study of some of the most significant aspects of the discipline of medicine during Late Antiquity (3rd to 8th centuries). Through the analysis of literary, historical, epigraphic and legal sources we look at the social aspects of medicine and in particular focus on issues related to the profession, its praxis and its historical evolution.
