Les inscripcions ibèriques i llatines del Cogul (les Garrigues, Lleida)

Abstract

Aquest article sintetitza les investigacions prèvies sobre les inscripcions ibèriques i llatines de la Roca dels Moros del Cogul i aporta una nova anàlisi dels seus textos a partir dels darrers treballs de documentació gràfica efectuats en el jaciment. Es presenta un nou calc integral del conjunt, al qual s’ha aplicat un tractament específic de les imatges i dels signes que ha posat de manifest importants detalls anteriorment ocults. El nou material gràfic ha permès fer una revisió de les lectures precedents d’aquests textos, ampliar-les i aportar nous elements per a la interpretació del contingut. Es comenta l’atribució votiva d’una part de les inscripcions en el context d’un possible santuari d’origen preromà i també s’ofereixen noves aportacions referents a l’àmbit de la toponímia o de les indicacions de tipus territorial.

This article summarizes the previous research into the Iberian and Latin inscriptions carved on the Roca dels Moros at El Cogul and provides a new analysis of the texts based on recent documentation work carried out at the site. We present a new reproduction of the whole scene with a specific treatment of the figures and signs that reveals important details that were previously hidden. The new graphic material has allowed the previous readings to be reviewed and expanded and for new contributions to be made to the interpretation of their content. The paper includes comments on the votive meaning of a part of the inscriptions in the context of a possible pre-Roman shrine and also contributes new information concerning toponymic or territorial terms.
