Métodos analíticos en el estudio del mármol estatuario. ¿Es local o importado?

Abstract

This contribution aims to expose a number of considerations regarding the reliability of the analytical results in the determination of the quarry of origin of white marbles which are part of different Roman decorative programs. The experience gained after the analytical study of countless Hispanic archaeological pieces, leads us to propose a methodology to develop in several stages that tries to match the archaeological hypothesis about the local or imported raw source.
